System Of Venus - S/T Album Review

System Of Venus cover art

System Of Venus is a Doom/Stoner Metal band from Melbourne, Australia.

System Of Venus is a band I have been hearing great things for the past few months or so. So I was kinda excited when Fatima contacted me to review their debut album. So I replied and received a promo copy of their excellent S/T debut album.

System Of Venus are a Rock/Metal band who are very hard to define. Yeah they play Doom, Grunge and Stoner Metal but they don't belong in one overall category. They play a mixture of many genres while still maintaining their own sound and identity.

If you're a fan of female fronted bands such as Alunah and Undersmile then you're going to fall for the sultry vocals of Fatima as she is on spellbinding form throughout. First track - Blackrock - comes out with a kick-ass groove that will instantly getting you rocking out. Damn this band can play some mighty fine riffage. This track has a great hypnotic vibe that will keep you hooked until the very end.

System Of Venus may not appeal to all Stoner/Doom Metal fans but give them a chance as you will pleasantly be surprised as they have some stunning riffs at their disposal. And they have written some excellent tracks to show off their great talent/ Blackrock being one of the albums standout tracks.

Other great tracks to check out are: Dancing In Hell's Garden, Monster Ego, Gannets Drive and Beast. The band have written some well-hidden meaning stories behind the punchy and spiky lyrics contained through out.

Play this one at full blast and System Of Venus will instantly draw you into their world where fast paced riffs is King sorry I mean Queen with Fatima on blazing form. This is one lady who you wouldn't want to mess with as she will easily kick your ass from here to kingdom come.

The band have laid down some mighty fine fast paced riffs which grab you by the nether-regions and won't let go until you have submitted to the bands angry as fuck charms.

Yeah I like this album a lot. It's cool to see another Aussie Hard Rock/Metal band making their mark on the realm of Rock and System Of Venus have excelled themselves here. Their debut album will win them a lot of fans within the next 12 months or so. I expect System Of Venus to releasing more great records in the years to come. This is only a stepping stone to bigger things.

But until then I recommend you check this excellent album out now on BandCamp. You won't be sorry.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
